Thomas Clayton Sampson
3/16/85 - 6/5/05
Tommy was born March 16, 1985. From a very young age we always said Tommy was born with an Old Soul, he was always happy, and had a lot of love and compassion for everyone. Tommy made friends with everyone he met, and had a way to make people laugh and feel good about themselves. He was always there for his family and friends whenever they needed help with something, someone to talk to and a shoulder to lean on. I always considered Tommy to be a leader, since he was never influenced by his peers, and was content with doing things on his own, his own way. He always had a love for nature and the outdoors, he liked to fish, hunt, walk in the woods, and be creative by trying to invent gadgets for one purpose or another. He had a sense for adventure and had a lot of fun doing it. Family and friends were very important in his life, and doing the best to his ability.
When Tommy passed away on June 5, 2005, it was a day that changed our lives forever, and even in the end Tommy was still trying to help others, by his selfless act of kindness by being an organ donor. His view on organ donation was “why not give it to someone who really needs it if it will help to save their life, since you won’t be needing it anymore” Our whole family are organ donors, and it is something that needs to be spoken about, you never know, you might end up needing one someday. Tommy was able to help 250 people.
We started the Tommy Sampson Scholarship fund through the D.C.M.O. Boces Conservation class because it was Tommy’s favorite class and he was very passionate about it. I know he would be thrilled to know his is helping a fellow student out to achieve their dream.

There are a lot of great photos on this page, please be patient while they all load (this could take a minute).....
